KRRA Limestone Race Weekend 2022

The Tommy Compton Memorial Kids 2K Run was the first race, kicking off the weekend.

Kids TCM 2K, 10K Waterfront, 5K, and Historic Half Marathon – April 23/24 2022

After two years of this important event being virtual, the Limestone Race Weekend was – once again – live, and in-person. The weekend was a smash success as eager runners of all ages were keen to participate. And what an amazing success it was: THREE course records smashed, 500+ registrations, new Half course, an army (some, literally) of eager and helpful volunteers, and a very smooth and professional job achieved by Race Directors Janet, Tara, and Christina.

The 10K Waterfront Run saw the most racing action with FOUR males beating the existing course record. It was the fastest field ever, for that race. The Women’s record was also smashed. On Sunday, we witnessed Branna MacDougall crush the women’s Historic Half Marathon record by approximately FIVE minutes. Rumour has it, the KRRA cheque signers got writer’s cramp, signing all the additional cheques for the bonuses handed out for the broken course records.
